PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
Portrait photography is a fascinating and beautiful process. Since all people are different, I try to approach them all in a special way, trying to understand what makes them unique. I want my photos to reflect their feelings and beliefs, creating portraits that inspire. My goal is to capture honest and clean images that show the true self. It is important for me to build a relationship of trust with the person I am photographing, making them feel relaxed and confident. This way, they can show their best side and let their personality shine.
JB LEULLIER
Jb Leullier who came to the island of Paros for the first time during the summer of 2004. Meeting the English sculptor Gyp Mills in 2009 opened up his horizons to marble sculpting and to a new beauty of the island. He says: “Living on the island all year around procures lots of emotion as a foreigner working with marble. After so many years, its like having a relationship with the beautiful Island. With ups and downs, but still I am here doing more and more what I like ! And i believe ‘She’ (the island) allows me to… She let me discover some of her beauty. The meeting with people here also has inspired my perception of the natural environment, the way how to live and to enjoy the basic things even more. I perceive those forms with curves, lots of kindness and strength also.

Wandering through the paths of Paros, between the wild vegetation dried by the summer sun, Sandy wonders what Archilochus saw while living on the island. When you crush it for building material with your motorized rodents, gnawing away at whole hills like a mouse at its prey, when you dynamite it with your uncontrolled rams, all you care about is doing your job, and so much for the clapboard. But when you build it rough, you take care of it, for then the stone acquires a face, which a good workman must know how to detect.
